Easy hike, gradual elevation gain and available water resources.

Elevation gain pretty gradual. Spring is slow to arrive so trail is pretty exposed at times.

The 12-mile section between Fort Edward and Fort Ann is a mix of road and off road sections. Though some parts are unpaved they are made up of crushed rock and rideable on just about any bike. This is a multi-use trail though, so be sure to keep an eye out of hikers.

Feeder Canal Heritage Trail is a 14-mile paved multi-use trail that follows the Glen Falls Feeder Canal through the city of Glen Falls.

There is a stony pool at the base of the falls and nearby lake access for swimming in Log Bay. The trail to the falls is a wide unmarked dirt path.

If you are looking for a shorter, less trafficked route to the top of Buck Mountain then this trailhead is ideal. The trail is well marked, narrow, and heavily forested until you reach the summit.

You get views toward the forested true peak of Sleeping Beauty Mountain from the north end of Bumps Pond. The pond makes an excellent stopping point along hikes to both Sleeping Beauty and Erebus Mountain.

From the false summit you get an excellent view of Lake George and the mountains of the Wild Forest. The true summit is a half mile north but wooded.
