Just a few minutes from Olofström lies Halen, the largest lake in Blekinge. And honestly, Halen isn't a lake you'd just pass by. It's the largest in all of Blekinge, covering over 3 square kilometers, and it feels like every bay has a new story to tell. Part of the lake—and especially the wild surroundings—belongs to the Halen Nature Reserve, which stretches over a whopping 700 hectares. Or even more, depending on where you start—because the northern part was added later, bringing the total area to around 800 hectares of true natural adventure. What awaits you here? Forest, water, expanse. Pine trees on rocks, small islands in the shimmering lake, hidden shore spots where you can dangle your feet in the water. And right in the middle of it all: you. Whether paddling, hiking, or simply marveling.

Here you'll find a barbecue area with a beautiful view of the lake. An open wooden hut provides shelter from wind and rain.

A small wooden walkway takes you a few meters out onto the lake, where you can sit and enjoy the view over the water. There's also a swimming exit for those particularly warm days.

The Frickabron suspension bridge connects two parts of the Halens Nature Reserve. It was built in 2020 and is named after a regional police officer. An information sign near the bridge tells his story.

From this spot you get a lovely view over the water. This is a nice place to take some photos, relax, and look out for birds and other animals before continuing on your hike.

Due to its elevated position, the bench offers a great view over the lake.
