The wide meadow on the eastern side of the Ute Trail Cameron Mtn Watershed Divide is a gradual section of the gravel forest road, with several seasonal and some permanent springs flowing toward Willow Creek. There are some convenient dispersed camping options along the edges of the meadow.

Large open meadow on the East side below this highpoint of Ute Trail, forming the gentle headwaters of Willow Creek. There are some good dispersed camp spots in respectful distance of the water and the forest road.

Ute Trail here runs on a hilly divide of Cameron Mountain, where all waters either flow (south-)east or (north-)west. There are some pleasant camp spots amid wildflowers just off-trail with big-sky sunset views.

The Royal Gorge Alta Vista Park has recreated the old railroad grade and re-decked trestle bridges for hikers and bikers, which makes the hike in Point Alta Vista trail very enjoyable, with boardwalks and a platform with an excellent viewpoint.

Fremont Peak is a 7053 ft peak in Cañon City area. The trail to there is gently inclined, giving a little taste of a challenge, with some nice views of the city and surrounded area. Beautiful, easy and flat walk along the Arkansas River. The trail starts in downtown Cañon City, but has peaceful areas to chill, with some benches and picnic tables.

Following Royal Gorge Canyon Trail you will get to Le View point, with amazing views of the Rim Gorge and Arizona River. Stout Lake, are three close lakes in San Isabel National Forest, directly in front of Twin Sisters Peak. The trail to the lakes is rocky and steep, with a considerable altitude gain of 3600 ft, and can be quite challenging because of the terrain. The path goes through lush, dense forest, and the beautiful alpine lakes, which, in the end, make the difficulty worth it. It’s recommended to have an alpine experience, trekking shoes, and also taking some hiking poles can be helpful.
