A resurgence cave is formed when and underground stream or spring is forced to the surface by an impenetrable layer of rock. This particular cave is located right along the Sheltowee Trace Trail and its water flows directly into the War Fork stream.

Sand Gap Trail is the longest trail in the Natural Bridge State Resort Park. Although it can be a little muddy and overgrown in spots (especially in the spring!), it's a great way to add a little extra mileage in your hike around the park. There are lush forests, rocky scrambles, and breaks in the trees that provide excellent views.

From atop Battleship Rock, a huge sandstone cliff, you're in a perfect spot to snack, rest, and take in the views. You have clear lines of site to the Natural Bridge to the south and the middle fork of the Red River running in the valley below to the east, with seemingly endless rolling hills in every direction. As always, keep an eye on the weather during the stormy season if you're spending time in this beautiful, exposed spot.

Rock Garden Trail winds through dense forest, offering mostly flat hiking punctuated by the occasional picturesque though challenging set of stairs. Depending on the time of year, this section offers birdwatching and plant identifying opportunities, along with an array of impressive sandstone boulders and rock formations to take in.

A worthy viewpoint to reward your uphill efforts, Lovers Leap is also a great place to take a break in good weather. On the other hand, be extremely careful on exposed points like this when lightning is anywhere in the area!

A complete sandstone archway that not only offers unique views of the surrounding hills, the "bridge" itself is a remarkable geological feature to admire. Even if approached via the skyway or a shorter hike, sturdy footwear with good grip is mandatory. The area sees a lot of humidity and moisture, and you'll want to be surefooted!

Beautiful state park with many possibilities (canoe, Kletternwaqld, Zipline and just hiking); the natural bridge is great and if you have not seen it from the side, it does not really stand out from above.
