On the northern edge of the Tettegouche State Park, Route 31 takes you along the Lax Lake. The route feels more like a forest road, surrounded by Beech, oak and pine trees.

You're never far from the waters of the lake, riding along Beaver Bay, from Silver Bay Marina to the mouth of the Beaver River, the views of the lakeshore landscape are spectacular.

Iona’s Beach Scientific and Natural Area is a 300 yard beach, surrounded by cliffs. It is a popular area for birdwatching, hiking and biking, as the Gitchi-Gami State Trail.

Great view of Lake Superior from this section of the Gitchi-Gami State Trail. The path at this point is paved and completely traffic free, so if you want to take a break to enjoy the view, this is a good spot.

Incredible views of the grand lighthouse of Split Rock. On the edge of the cliff overlooking Lake Superior the Lighthouse is a historic monument worthwhile visiting.

Mic Mac Lake is a popular lake in Tettegouche State Park. The trail that runs around the lake is a popular path as there are several spots that give great views of the lake.
