The Castillo de Bedmar, also known as the Castillo Nuevo de Bedmar, is a historic fortress located in the municipality of Bedmar y Garcíez in the province of Jaén, Spain. The castle was originally built in the 15th century by the Order of Santiago and served as a defensive bastion against the invasions of the Nasrid Kingdom of Granada. The castle is located in a strategic location in the Sierra Mágina, which made it an important border fortress during the Middle Ages. It has a rich history of conflict between Christian and Muslim rulers, changing hands several times. Today the castle is in a state of disrepair, but it remains a fascinating example of medieval military architecture.

Jimena is a small town in the south of the province, on the northern side of the Sierra Mágina, located in a landscape of olive groves, fruit trees, allotments and sierra. The town is particularly known for its figs and brebas. The municipality is divided into two very different areas: there is the mountainous south-eastern area that is part of the Sierra Mágina Natural Park, and the rest of the municipality is agricultural land dedicated to olives.

This is the most characteristic point from which you can see the entire valley of the Guadalquivir River, and all the human settlements that currently exist such as Arroyo Frío, El Chaparral or Loma de María Ángela. It is located at an altitude of 1241 meters above sea level.

This monumental bullring was inaugurated in 1857 where there was an old convent known as San Nicasio, founded at the beginning of the 15th century. The inauguration date was that year of 1857 in which the bullfighter "Lagartijo" took the alternative, the same one who later inaugurated the Baeza bullring.

In the municipality of Canena, the Canena Castle is a Renaissance-style building built in the 16th century: it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest and is one of the most important in Andalusia.

It is a rock hermitage of Visigoth origin and is made up of three caves excavated in the rock. This historical-artistic monument in the middle of the Alcobilla hill is worth visiting.

Beautiful and small town that is crossed by the same Río Guadalquivir at this step at the entrance to the province of Granada by one of its ends.

From the southernmost end of the beautiful city of Úbeda we find these beautiful views of what is called the Alcázar, the old town of the city itself. The views of the olive fields are worth it!
