Well-marked trails through a rocky valley, with the Prafleuri mountain hut at the top of the valley where you can sit, eat and drink.

At the foot of the dam you can really appreciate the immensity of the work: six million cubic metres of concrete, and with a height of 285 metres, it is the highest gravity dam in the world, and the most massive in Europe.

Very nice hut, located directly on the glacier. The warm outdoor shower with a direct view of the mountains is worth it.

While the signposted and marked mountain path winds along the east edge of the lateral moraine of the Corbassière glacier, this well-trodden path is much steeper (and more strenuous!) and leads directly along the outermost (partly ridge-like) edge of the lateral moraine. From here, however, you can enjoy exciting insights into the glacier valley with the suspension bridge spanning it, as well as views of the course of the lateral moraine and fascinating views of the glacier tongues and the Combin peak.

At an altitude of 2365 m, the 200 m long iron suspension bridge (Passerelle de la Corbassière) spans 70 m above ground over the glacial valley of the Corbassière glacier and over the meltwater flowing off the glacier, which now ends far above (Dyure de Corbassière). It was built in 1914 and offers a convenient path connection between the Panossière hut and the Brunet hut. In addition to insights into the entire glacial valley, there are wonderful views of the various Combin peaks and large parts of the Corbassière glacier.

The Cabane FXB Panossière is located on a rocky hill (on the eastern lateral moraine of the Corbassière glacier) at 2641 m above sea level in the middle of a beautiful mountain landscape. It is excellently equipped (large room for eating; several spacious bedrooms; washrooms, showers, composting toilets; an additional shower in the forecourt with water heated by hoses when the sun is shining). The food was excellent and varied. The hut is suitable for many mountain tours in the surrounding mountains, including high-altitude tours to the various Combin peaks or to the Grand Tavé. From the hut there are wonderful views at any time of day of the Combin mountain peaks (Petit Combin, Combin de Corbassière, Combin de la Tsessette, Grand Combin) with mighty masses of snow and large parts of the Corbassière glacier.

One of the region's many legendary refuges. The Prafleuri refuge is an integral part of the region's Alpine heritage, providing shelter to experienced mountaineers and hikers. The refuge is a popular choice for those traveling the Haute Route, both in summer and winter. These huts are just as much a part of the mountains as the mountains themselves, so it's always worth visiting for a coffee and enjoying the mountain vibe, it would be rude not to when the views are so magnificent ! This shelter also offers accommodation, but be sure to book in advance - it's a busy shelter and can be full weeks in advance, for good reason.
