The lake and its surroundings are located in a cantonal nature reserve and have neither an inflow nor an outflow. It is fed solely by groundwater.

The Schliere Delta offers plenty of space for play. It's especially great with children, as they can keep themselves entertained by and in the water. Small natural fire pits are dotted around the rocks where you can grill. Afterwards, you can cool off in the Schliere River or relax in the shade under the surrounding trees. There are a few parking spaces right next door. The Schliere Delta is also quickly accessible on foot from Alpnach Dorf train station.

The adventure playground at Tannwald in Seelisberg is a true paradise for little explorers: With numerous play equipment, two barbecue areas, and an adjacent forest, it offers everything a child's heart desires. A water hydrant provides refreshment on hot days, and its proximity to the Träumli restaurant (just 50 meters away) makes it the perfect spot for family outings.
