Cassin di Quinto is a town in the municipality of Quinto, in the Canton of Ticino. It is located in the Leventina Valley and is known for its maggenghi, or alpine pastures where cattle are raised. It can be reached from the road that starts from Deggio or Lurengo, for a pleasant walk immersed in nature.

Lurengo is a fraction of the municipality of Quinto. It is located at 1,324 meters above sea level, located along the Strada Alta, a hiking itinerary that runs along the left bank of the Leventina Valley. It is a small mountain village, surrounded by woods and meadows. The small church Oratorio Oratorio Immacolata Madonna della neve stands out in the panorama.

The Piora Alp is one of the largest mountain pastures in Ticino, with an area of 3500 hectares. Different types of cheeses are produced here and direct sales are available. In the heart of Val Piora, it is surrounded by lush nature, with many lakes and waterways. It is the ideal place to stop during an excursion.

Beautifully situated reservoir above Piotta

Beautiful waterfall at the eastern end of the lake. The hiking trail (and MTB trail) leads right past it.

At the eastern end of the lake you can easily get to the water (flat beach) from the hiking trail.
