Rob Roy lived for the last few years at the western end of Balquhidder Glen. He died after a dispute over land with his neighbour John MacLaren of Invernenty. He succumbed to his injuries from the clan duel on 28 December 1734.

Nice B&B just outside of Crianlarich. It is a nice house with nicely decorated rooms. The innkeeper was friendly and helpful. Nearby is the Ben More Lodge, where you can eat wonderfully. Of course, delicious ale is also served here and you meet some hikers of the West Highland Way.
