The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, known as “il Cappellino”, in via Aria Libera in Corna di Darfo, was once dedicated to those who died from the plague in the 17th century. It is now dedicated to the victims of the Gleno disaster. On 1 December 1923, the town was submerged by the waters of the Gleno dam and by everything that it swept away and carried downstream. Corna was one of the most damaged towns: of the 356 confirmed victims, 90 belonged to this Parish, in whose territory 27 houses were destroyed. While waiting to be identified, the bodies were placed in the church. On the main façade, above the portal, there is a plaque in memory of the victims of this immense tragedy.
