Impressive gateway to the Victorain country house with a golf coruse. A wedding and events venue. The old Orchardleigh house was demolsihed and presrnt one built 1856 by Thomas Wyatt for William Duckworth. Pevsver describes the new house as "picturesque, irregular and in mixed elizabethan style. Grad II/ The grounds were landscaped possivly by Repton and used as a filming location for 1974 BBC The treasure of Abbots Thomas and 2009 'The Queen" and 1987 episode of Miss Marple

onto quiet roads of Beckington

This is the bottom end of Orchardleigh estate and a great (quieter) route to get over the hill and to Buckland Dindam

Avoid attempting to use this as a crossing for the A36. Although it's surrounded by idyllic lanes, it's too dangerous to cross here and run up the road for 10 metres to the lane on the left.

Impressive gateway to the Orchardleigh Estate (Golf and Country Club). The gate was closed when I visited (private land) but it is a nice spot to look around. Stopped here briefly on my way out of Frome. Near the picturesque village of Lullington, I cannot confirm if it is called Gloucester House but this is the name of the road it is on.

Little spot on the river Frome where I've seen some swimmers when sunny.
