Poole Harbour is one of the biggest natural harbours in the world. Steeped in history, this great harbour also has access to stunning countryside and woodland areas. Here on the coastal side of the Old Town part of Poole Harbour are fine views out over the main channel towards Poole and Brownsea Island.

We were there on a sunny Sunday afternoon during the holidays and yes... it was packed 🙈. Nevertheless, the place is well worth seeing and it is quite easy to get around. The daily parking fee for a car is 20 pounds 😳!

There are documentary references to the building of "A Bridge on the River Stour adjacent to the White Mill" in the year 1175. Although the bridge you'll see today is probably a sixteenth century structure (somewhat hacked around by the Victorians).
