The white sand and clear waters of Carbis Bay are sheltered from the big Atlantic seas so it makes for a tranquil beach, popular with swimmers. It is often less busy than other beaches around St Ives. It also hosted the G7 summit back in 2021. If you're planning on running here, consider travelling by train as the cliffside railway tracks offer a unique and beautiful journey.

A short jog from St Ives station will bring you to Porthminster Beach. The sea is a gorgeous blue and the sand shines with a golden hue. As the palm trees sway in the wind you'll be forgiven for forgetting you're even in the UK.

Look east across Polgassick Cove to Pen Enys Point, another stunning stretch of Cornish Coastline.

Look south west and I'll be rewarded with fantastic views of Cape Cornwall across the bay of Porth Leddon. Cape Cornwall is one of only two capes in the UK. You can walk all the way up to the chimney stacks.
