11月 1, 2023, Portmellon Cove
Portmellon is a very small village and cove. The road closely hugs the sandy beach, which is completely covered by the sea at high tide. There is a snack shack in the beach carpark and a pub next door if you are in need of sustenance. If you approach Portmellon from the South West you will see the 'Beware Waves' sign on your left. Take heed on stormy days as the waves crash right over the road and can even hit the houses.

10月 31, 2023, Mawgan Porth Beach
Mawgan Porth is a much quieter alternative to the very busy Newquay. With gorgeous sand and stunning clifftops, its surprising that it doesn't get more crowded when it's only 4 miles from Newquay. Even at high tide there is a lot of sand and life guards are present during the summer (May till September). One for an evening run as the sunsets here are stunning. There are pubs, restaurants, shops and cafes nearby and it is a Sunday Times award winning beach.

8月 2, 2023, Pentewan Beach and Village
Lovely seaside village to stop off at for refreshments during your ride. Great coffee and cakes available from Little Bay Cafe or if you fancy a beer there's the Ship Inn with its beer garden. Personally I love a Flat White on the bench looking out over the beach listening to the sea 💝

7月 12, 2022, Roche Rock Chapel Ruins
Roche Rock is a granite outcrop looming 20m high. On top of the rock is the ruin of a chapel built in 1409. There are plenty of legends surrounding the chapel. It is thought to have been lived in by a hermit and his daughter, hence another popular name for it being Roche Rock Hermitage. In medieval times it is said to have been occupied by a landowning family who had leprosy and wanted to protect loved ones from catching it. The demon of Jan Tregeagle, an evil Cornish magistrate who was said to have made a pact with the devil in return for power, fame and success, tried to hide at Roche Rock after being set a series of impossible tasks to keep him out of hell until Judgement Day. When the wind is blowing you might even hear wailing coming from the chapel walls.

7月 12, 2022, Charlestown Harbour
Charlestown is an unspoilt Georgian harbour used frequently as a filming location as it is so unchanged by time. It features in Poldark, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Eagle has Landed, Alice in Wonderland and the Three Musketeers to name a few. The harbour was built between 1791 and 1801 to export copper and import coal but also ended up exporting china clay. Charlestown was named after Charles Rashleigh, a local entrepreneur who invested greatly in the area. It was previously known as West Polmear. There is a cafe and two pubs in Charlestown plus a Shipwreck Treasure Museum.

7月 12, 2022, Caerhays Castle
There is a great view of Caerhays Castle from the road, down the access lane to the west of the main castle entrance. Caerhayes Castle and gardens are open to the public during the spring. A beach cafe run by the castle at Caerhays Bay is open all year round. For more information visit their website https://visit.caerhays.co.uk/ The building was built in 1808 and the woodland gardens were created from the finds of plant hunters who returned from China in the 19th Century. For Poldark fans, although it isn't a filming location, in one of the novels Jeremy, Ross and Demelza's son meets a romantic interest at Caerhays Castle.
