The modest climb is worth the reward of the views across the valley of the River Arrow towards Leominster and beyond that to the distant Brown Clee and Titterstone Clee in Shropshire.

One of the most scenic village greens in the county, overlooked by a cafe/deli and a grocery store if you want to stop.

A couple of ramps but generally a pretty steady gradient, and the top arrives quite quickly.

The well maintained fairways made it feel worthwhile carrying a full set of golf clubs on my ride. The groundsman didn’t look too happy about me walking over the greens in my road cleats though.

The black and white village of Weobley was once a thriving medieval market town. Today it's a sleepy Herefordshire village but has plenty to see, with a range of historical buildings, and hints at its Saxon and Roman past. The Green Bean cafe and deli is ideal for a coffee or picnic supplies and opens Tues-Sat 0930-1500.

Set in a broad valley that stretches from the river Wye to the town of Leominster, 6 miles away, Dilwyn is a picturesque black and white village. The 12th-century village church of St Mary is a grade I listed building.

Open 0930-1530 every day other than Tuesday, when it's closed.

Weobley is a beautiful old village in Herefordshire. Noted for the half timber black and white buildings from the 14th and 15th century.

There is a memorial to a WW2 Spitfire pilot called JC Pugh. Pugh was attempting a forced landing in a nearby field in a damaged Spitfire when at the very last minute he spotted a farm worker on his chosen landing site, he swerved the farm worker, saving his life but crashed into a tree killing himself.

Dilwyn village in Herefordshire has been a settlement for over 1000 years. The centre of the village is a conservation area known for the examples of half timber black and white buildings
