Knettishall Heath is a 91.7-hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest west of Knettishall in Suffolk. A larger area of 176 hectares is the Knettishall Heath Nature Reserve, which is managed by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust.

There is a bridge here over the water so you can continue along Peddars Way. There is also access to the river (easier to access from the Knettishall side). It is a great and safe place to let your dogs into the river for a play. We take our dogs here for their first paddle

A nicely maintained bomb hole with a ramp at the bottom. This is best suited for more experiences riders who want a little bit of a challenge, and who want to get some air time!

Freehouses are usually a good bet for a lunch stop. Convenient location, if by a bit of a busy road.

Watch out for the cattle grids at each end of the heath road, they really rattle you if you hit them at speed!

Coffee and cakes available from a van on site and benches to sit and rest at!

Knettishall Heath nature reserve covers about 430 acres (174 hectares) and also includes woodland and riverside meadows, as well as large areas of heath. In season, there is a visitor welcome and cafe van in the car park every Wed-Sun plus bank holidays 10am-4pm. If you go early in the morning, you're likely to find the ponies grazing much closer to the road.
