A solitary mountain pass between the Valdeón and Sajambre valleys, where the silence is broken only by the wind. Its name recalls an old iron cross that marked the boundary between the municipalities and served as a guide for muleteers. Some say a Carlist skirmish took place there, others that it was a meeting point for smugglers. What is certain is that from the summit the mountains open up like a sea of stone, and one understands why this place still smells of a borderland.

It is a small and charming mountain town with less than 30 inhabitants. It has a bar, church and hostel. What more could you want?

Here is the dam that creates the Camporredondo Reservoir. From this place you can follow paths and trails that surround the entire reservoir. This reservoir dates back to the 1930s.

Here you will find a spectacular view of the Camporredondo reservoir. But that's not all, the views of the surrounding mountains are excellent and it is worth taking out your camera to take some photos.
