Although this hermitage is actually called the hermitage of San Lorenzo de Mesterika, it is popularly known as San Lontzo or Santillandi. It is a small popular hermitage of very remote antiquity.

At 684 meters high, this is the highest peak of the massif that bears its name. It is located on the left bank of the estuary. During the Civil War, the so-called Battle of Sollube took place on its slopes for eight days.

Fruiz (or Frúniz in Spanish) is a small town in Vizcaya with a rather curious name. There are many Basque towns that end in -iz. It is believed to be a construction formed by a proper name attached to the Latin suffix -icus declined. That proper name would be that of the person to whom the municipality belonged in ancient times.

Meñaka (or Meñaca, in Spanish) is made up of three neighborhoods. The main one is San Lorenzo de Mesterica (Mesterika), with farmhouses grouped around the church, the town hall and the pediment. The other two neighborhoods are Andra Mari de Meñacabarrena (Meñakabarrena), to the south, and Santa Elena de Emerando (Emerando), to the north and on the slopes of Mount Sollube.

Sollube from Bermeo is a climb in the Basque Country region. It has a length of 8.2 kilometers and an ascent of 651 vertical meters with a slope of 7.9% on average. The top of the ascent is located at 658 meters above sea level.
