The fountain café next to the fool's fountain invites you to linger in the summer

The Mainz Gate (Buchen City Tower) has a carillon that chimes on the hour and has a repertoire of 100 melodies. It's a real carillon with a console in the Eiermannstube (egg room) at the top of the tower.

A very beautiful little chapel with beautifully designed stained-glass windows. After your visit, you can enjoy the lovely rest area outside with a fantastic view. Planning a short break here is a must.

Town Tower Town tower in Buchen's city center. Buchen originally had four gate towers within the city fortifications: the Hainstadt Gate, the Seetor, the Würzburg Gate, and the Mainz Gate (today's town tower). Above the outer archway is Buchen's well-known carnival symbol, the "Blecker." Different construction periods can be seen on the picturesque gate tower. The two lower stories presumably date from the early Gothic period around 1309, and the two upper stories from the late Gothic period around 1490. The octagonal Baroque onion dome was rebuilt after the great fire in Buchen (1719 - see the coat of arms above the inner archway).
