Also this year (2025) well maintained, although no summit is ever climbed: really impressive route, it never gets boring but: not entirely without effort, always up, then down...let your gaze wander...past waterfalls, climb over streams...it's worth it!

La Concha is a wonderful goal for a stunning view and hike. Two considerations: When it is very sunny, you’ll be exposed to the sun pretty much all the time. Sunscreen and a hat are most definitely necessary. There are two great starting points: one from Istan (more elevation) and one from the Refugio (less elevation, starts in a forest). I have done both hikes and would recommend to start with the one from Refugio: https://www.komoot.com/de-de/tour/2144328300

A wonderful, well-maintained path - although not easy - leads about 10 km from the town of Tolox to 3 waterfalls with great views - sometimes even to Torrecilla - "the highest" of the Sierra de las Nieves.

Warning: the hike is really difficult. There are hardly any normal paths and a lot of stony and uneven terrain, some with deep chasms and not everywhere where it would be helpful there are holding possibilities. So first of all: Don't underestimate it, good sturdy shoes and sure-footedness are essential. There are also no places to stop for refreshments, so always take enough water with you. On the Istan circuit via La Concha (approx. 17 km, approx. 1000 meters in altitude) I used 4.5 liters of water in the spring. Please don't underestimate either! The stitch from the hiking trail to the summit leads over a ridge, which is not without its problems either, but it is possible if you find the right path. The view is worth everything! We had seen the entire African coast from above, and the mainland from Gibraltar to Malaga city and beyond.

Amazing view and nature. Always worth it. Perfect for my fastest known time (FKT) straight up from Playa Fontanilla, Marbella to the summit of La Concha 02:10:52h h And back in 01:34:43h The run was performed by an experienced ultra-trail runner, a Gebirgsjäger of the German Armed Forces and a passionate high-altitude mountaineer with an impeccable physical and mental condition and is not intended for imitation. Moving in the mountains can lead to serious falls, injuries and death. Please, dont't try that
