Huesa del Común is a small town in the Cuencas Mineras region, located in a spectacular setting next to the Aguasvivas River, which forms a limestone canyon ideal for climbing and via ferrata. The Moorish tower, also known as the old tower of Alacón, is the only remaining defensive tower that was built in the 9th century. At that time, Alarquén, which was what the current territory of Alarcón was called, had a palace and a mosque. It has a square plan and a truncated pyramid elevation that rises about 15 meters. According to tradition, the tower communicated with the river through an underground passage.
