The visitor center of the nature park and parking spaces are located in Alberese. It's best to leave the car here and cycle to Marina di Alberese, the legendary natural beach. Even inexperienced cyclists can easily cover the 9 km long route on a paved road with no gradient. The Maremma was a swamp area or moor that was drained. The area used to be considered a malaria hell. Today there is nothing to fear anymore. But mosquito repellent still makes sense. Nature itself has provided plenty of variety in the Maremma National Park: forests and meadows, tree-lined hills and sea beaches vary the area between Principina Mare in the north and Talamone in the south.

For those who are not in the area, the ideal meeting point is Alberese from where you can directly access the cycle path and the various dirt roads. The bikes that can be rented on site are not specific or in excellent condition so bring your own. Once you arrive at Collelungo beach, you can leave your bikes in the rack and enjoy the breathtaking and uncontaminated panorama.
