The Church of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a Catholic place of worship with Romanesque and Renaissance architecture, located in Piazza Achille Miodini in Felino, in the province and diocese of Parma. It is the seat of a parish in the pastoral area of Pedemontana. HISTORY: The original place of worship was built in the Middle Ages; the earliest evidence of its existence dates back to 1230, when the Chapel of Sancte Marie de Felino was mentioned in the Capitulum seu Rotulus Decimarum of the diocese of Parma among the dependencies of the parish church of Sant'Antonino Martire of Barbiano. In 1564, the church was elevated to the status of an independent parish. In 1600, the ancient Romanesque building was renovated in Renaissance style, retaining only some elements of the original structure. In 1802, the façade was modified with the construction of the neoclassical portal. In 1896, lightning struck the bell tower, causing extensive damage to the belfry and roof, which were rebuilt in neo-Romanesque style in 1910. On December 23, 2008, a strong earthquake struck the area; in 2013, the church underwent structural consolidation. Very pretty little bar with a lovely outdoor pergola, ideal for a "sandwich stop". The Malvasia is not bad either.

A beautiful climb, quite challenging at first, then becoming easier towards the pass at 650 meters. I would not recommend doing it in the height of summer as it is completely exposed and without the shelter of wooded areas. The long descent to Salsomaggiore Terme is very beautiful.

The parish church of San Biagio, also known as the parish church of Talignano, is a Catholic place of worship with Romanesque forms. The parish church was probably built at the beginning of the 12th century by the friars belonging to the now disappeared Cistercian monastery of Rocchetta, which at the time stood on a slope of the nearby Mount Prinzera, even if the first evidence of its existence dates back only to 1230; in Romanesque style, it was born as an intermediate stop for pilgrims who traveled the Via Francigena, who could find hospitality in the annexed hospice which was later destroyed. Between the 16th and 18th centuries the church was modified with the addition of Baroque and Neoclassical decorations. Between 1930 and 1940 the building was completely restored by removing the added superstructures, with the aim of returning it to its original appearance: the exterior was almost entirely recovered with the demolition of the plaster and the reconstruction of the Romanesque decorations, the part of the rectory annexed to the church was demolished and some single-lancet windows were opened in the apse.
