If you climb from Araotz, follow the PR, and the climb is very easy and short. From the cave parking lot, it's much steeper and zigzags. About 2.5 or 3 km with a lot of elevation gain.

This walk is beautiful but we did it in April and it was very wet and slippery. There was a part with lots of stones and mud and leaves where you sank half a meter. Not very steep until the sanctuary. There we had to zigzag very steeply up the rock. Better to walk up than down but that part is strenuous and not average.

The Arantzazu sanctuary is located between the green mountains, ravines and streams of Oñate. But its location is not the only thing that makes it special. Although the original building dates from the s. XV, the basilica was rebuilt in 1950 in a modern architectural style that has been recognized with several awards.

Very difficult access, apart from the fact that you have to juggle to cross the barbed wire. In this whole area, THEY DO EVERYTHING SO THAT THE MOUNTAINS DO NOT PASS ON THE ROADS. I think this summit is not worth accessing.
