La Fresneda is a town and municipality in the province of Teruel in the Matarraña region that offers us a wide variety of activities as well as a large number of historical monuments and civil and religious buildings of singular beauty and charm. I recommend walking through the streets of the town calmly, observing every detail and building, of which the parish church of Santa María la Mayor, the whole of the main square, the Hermitage of Santa Bárbara or the prisons stand out.

Built in the 14th century and enlarged in the 17th century, the Sanctuary is a site worth visiting. With a remarkable Gothic style, the complex is made up of the Hermitage of Santa Monica, a cloister and other rooms that make this Sanctuary an example of the architecture of that time.

Curious statue next to the fountain known as the Lavadero Fuente de la Villa. Its history is currently unknown but it is undoubtedly one of the attractions of the town of Fuentespalda.

From the Hermitage you will have beautiful views of the entire town of Fuentespalda and the valley of the Tastavins river. The construction of the Hermitage dates from the year 1787 as indicated on its main façade and as usually happens in many of this type, a calvary is preserved that runs along the ascent path to it and in this case a very picturesque one , surrounded by beautiful cypress trees.
