Mountain between Vizcaya and Álava of 1331 meters of altitude. It is one of the best-known mountains of the Basque Mountains due to its importance in traditional Basque culture. In it, Basque mythology establishes the main dwelling of the goddess Mari, known as the Lady of Amboto.

At the top there is a mailbox, sculptures and good views. Beneath the mountain rises the beautiful abyss of the Atxondo valley and around it, closing a broken line of mountainous lines, the rocky mass of Erlo, the Aizkorri and Urkilla mountain ranges and the great Gorbea massif. The descent leaves the summit to the east and goes down the steep southeast face following a path marked with stone milestones. The trail passes through the magical Ojo de Eskilar and continues down the rocky southern slope of Anboto.

Follow the cairns to the peak. The right path is easy to miss.

Anboto by Zabalandi never disappoints. At first the climb is smooth and comfortable. It also allows me to enjoy an impressive panoramic view of the southeast edge of Anboto, and of the mountains of Duranguesado in general.

With wet stone, do not climb too vertical and slippery.

If you have vertigo, it is not advisable to go up to Anboto
