カイザーヴィンケル・ヤールシュテットの内ドイツ国境記念碑は、ニーダーザクセン州とザクセン＝アンハルト州の間のドイツのかつての分断を記録した、印象的な追悼の場です。

Böckwitz(ザクセン＝アンハルト州)と隣接するZicherie(ニーダーザクセン州)にかつてあった東西ドイツの国境は、ドイツ分断の最も顕著な象徴の一つとされています。この場所では、国境は森や野原を抜けるのではなく、すでに形成されていた村の構造の真ん中を通過していました。

Approximately 2,200 kilometers of waterways run through the Drömling region, which is why it is also called the "Land of a Thousand Ditches." The UNESCO Biosphere Reserve provides a habitat for numerous rare and endangered animal and plant species. The area of the biosphere reserve extends over 450 square kilometers from the southwestern edge of the Altmark region along the Mittelland Canal to the northwest of Saxony-Anhalt. In addition to the waterways, the landscape is characterized by deciduous forests, meadows, fields, and moors.
