Tradition has it that this hermitage was built by Pedro I of Aragón, who enthroned the image of Our Lady of Ganza that he used to carry into battle. Its spectacular Templar castle has witnessed ten centuries of a hectic military history. It was erected by the Muslims; later it would be the seat of the main Templar encomienda of the Crown of Aragon, where the infant Jaime I, future king of Aragon, was educated. Currently, the castle houses an interesting Interpretation Center where you will be introduced to the fascinating world of the warrior-monks of the Order of the Temple.
