The Schaumburger Ritter inn is probably the oldest inn in what is now the town of Rinteln. It is even older than the village of Rosenthal, to which it belonged for centuries. As early as the 15th century, farmers, suppliers, and mercenaries paying services and taxes are said to have stopped here. The current building dates essentially from the mid-19th century.

Great food—whether stew, schnitzel, or cake—generous portions, reasonable prices, friendly service, and a tidy, pleasant environment. A lovely beer garden and dining room—a visit is a MUST.

Small, friendly hut at the Hünenburg

Nice place to rest on the Lange Wand Trail in the Weser Mountains. Several benches and a narrow table offer space for larger groups.

This beautiful little shelter is located at the turnoff to Hünenburg. It was built in 2008.
