The Puerto del Arenal in the Tiétar Valley is a very popular hiking route in the Sierra de Gredos. This route, known as PR-AV 45, connects the Tormes Valley with the Tiétar Valley through the town of El Arenal.

Surrounded by tall pine trees, the smell of pine needles and cones is incredible along the hiking route to Los Galayos Peak from El Hornillo. There are some shelters along the trail should you need one.

With a short walk from the mountain town of El Arenal, you reach the natural pools of the Arenal River. Granite rocks curved over time by the force of the river create this unique wild swimming paradise.

Town located on the southern slope of the Gredos mountain range. It received the title of town in 1759, the jurisdiction roll that accredits its title can be seen next to the river, on the Puente Nuevo (moved from its original site next to the hermitage).

Pass that is spectacular since some of its curves before reaching the top of the port are paved, something difficult to find on many of these mountain roads.

Puerto de la Cabrilla is a mountain that is almost two thousand meters high and is located in the old middle of the ridge of the Sierra de Gredos, close to the port of Pico which is in an east direction.
