The Burón to Retuerto Beech Forest Trail is a hiking route that crosses one of the most beautiful beech forests in the Riaño Mountains, in the province of León.

The Mirva Valley, located in the municipality of Burón (León), is a natural gem nestled in the Riaño Mountains, on the southern slopes of the Cantabrian Mountains. It is especially known for being part of the PR-LE 21 "Los Bosques de Burón" hiking route, which connects the Mirva and Rabanal valleys in a circular route of approximately 13-14 km, with a duration of approximately 5 hours and a cumulative elevation gain of 635 meters.

Wonderful views of Riaño and the lakes

Beautiful panoramic view of the western and central massifs of the Picos de Europa. Down in the valley, we will see the town of Retuerto. About 100 meters away there is a forest hut that also offers us great views.

Precious views along the path that advances next to the Mirva stream, the homonymous valley is one of the most representative of Valdeburón.

Near the official path that goes to the Port of Ventaniella, we find two precious hundred-year-old specimens in a beautiful setting. The shade of these oaks will not be great if we want to take a break.
