Super nice road up to Eva del Cardon and then to Santa Lucia

Construction of the three-aisled church, made of volcanic rock of different colours, began around 1520. The late Gothic main façade dates back to the 16th century. In the 17th and 18th centuries, structural changes were made in the Baroque style and the central nave was renovated in the 19th century. The two bell towers were only built in the 20th century. The Flemish retable of the high altar, which was created around 1500, is of artistic historical importance in the interior of the church.

Beautiful church and square

A relic from the times of the conquest of the Canary Islands The municipality of Agüimes is located southeast of the capital of Gran Canaria. It was one of the first places to be settled after the Spanish conquered the island in 1491. The place was originally chosen as an episcopal see by the Castilian royal family, but today it is entirely dedicated to rural tourism and the increasing traffic of goods via the port of Arinaga.
