As is often the case in larger cities, there is also the opportunity to explore the city in a comfortable way.

Construction of the three-aisled church, made of volcanic rock of different colours, began around 1520. The late Gothic main façade dates back to the 16th century. In the 17th and 18th centuries, structural changes were made in the Baroque style and the central nave was renovated in the 19th century. The two bell towers were only built in the 20th century. The Flemish retable of the high altar, which was created around 1500, is of artistic historical importance in the interior of the church.

Santa Catalina Park, in the heart of Las Palmas, offers plenty of opportunities for locals and visitors. It is lined with cafes and shops and often hosts street markets and pop-up festivals. Large palm trees and colourful flowerbeds add to the beauty of the public square, which is also a great place to just sit and watch people go by. The park is also busy at night - in the evenings it buzzes with nightlife, with bars, clubs and discos. The park is also home to the Museo de la Ciencia (Science Museum) and the Edificio Miller (Miller Building). In summer, it hosts Carnival and the Dance and Theatre Festival. There is also a small playground suitable for young children.
