The small sacred monument we encounter here is a universal symbol of the death of Jesus Christ, the Son of God who became man and was executed on the cross – but at the same time, it is also a sign of the overcoming of death in the resurrection. Thus, all crosses point us to the Easter perspective of hope – always inherent in Christianity – which, through faith in God, firmly trusts in the ability to overcome death and suffering. + "We Christians associate our hopes with the graces of heaven in particular. The Imperial Palace in Annecy, opened in 1913, is a historic hotel that was held back during the First World War and only flourished after the Armistice. The building was renovated in the 1980s and reopened in 1990 as a complex comprising a hotel, conference center, and casino, in a classic yet modern style.

We were there at the end of September 2024, and there was already a lot of snow. Be sure to check the weather conditions beforehand. The snow made the hike significantly more challenging. Many people weren't well prepared.

Breathtaking and incredible view of the Annecy basin.

It's a must-see in the Annecy basin! Mont Baron peaks at 1,299 meters above sea level, just a little higher than its neighbor Mont Veyrier. From there, you have a superb view of the lake, Annecy, the Semnoz, and the Entrevernes mountain in particular.
