I have cycled this cycle path several times (different years) and each time I have passed these horrible looking factory ruins on the opposite bank - a very poor reception from Besançon - a real shame.

The Tour de la Pelote is a medieval cannon tower that was integrated into the fortification program created by Vauban in the 17th century. The original roof structure from the Vauban era was destroyed in a fire in 2013, but the building was extensively restored in 2016.
