Malthouse with history: In 2018, the descendants of the last family manager of the Motte-Cordonnier Brewery breathed new life into the company. The brewery has a 370-year history, closely linked to Armentières. In the mid-20th century it was the third largest French beer brewer. In the 1970s the brewery was bought by Stella Artois and in 1982 the beer brand disappeared from the market. The brewery closed its doors in 1993... until a quarter of a century later, 15 (!) descendants of Bernard Motte picked up the broken thread of the family tradition.

Stele in tribute to the soldier Reverend David Railton, based with his unit in Erquinghem-Lys in July 1916, and who had the idea for the first time in history, seeing an anonymous grave on his return from the battlefield, to repatriate after the war the body of a British soldier, unknown by name and rank, so that the Nation honors him as an "Unknown Soldier". This was achieved on November 11, 1920 in London, with the burial with great fanfare in Westminster Abbey of an anonymous soldier exhumed earlier from the French battlefields. By the greatest chance, another great name from the 14-18 war, also linked to Erquinghem-Lys, found himself among the war heroes forming the guard of honor that day. This is Arthur Poulter whose story is told on another memorial located at the exit of the town near the old station.
