The pond has been drained for some time now, as of July 25, and looks rather desolate. Only a small trickle of water runs through the dry lake bed. What a pity.

St. Anthony's Church on the upper main street was built at the same time as the Franciscan monastery and consecrated in 1664. With the secularization of the monastery, St. Anthony's Church also served secular purposes. From 1835 onward, for example, it was used as a municipal market—the name given to a grain market—and even for theater performances. This was made possible by the installation of a mezzanine in the church. Since 1921, St. Anthony's Church has once again been what it was from the beginning: a Catholic place of worship. Of particular cultural and historical value inside the church are the oil painting "Adoration of the Cross" by the Saulgau painter Johann Kaspar Koler and two oil paintings by the Asam student Jos. The Alemannic half-timbered house "Haus am Markt" dates back to around 1400 and was restored between 1978 and 1981. Most of the original timber framing was preserved. The first floor now houses the council chamber, and the second floor houses the Galerie am Markt (Gallery at the Market). Source: Wikipedia

The historic half-timbered house "Ecklädele" was built in 1581 using a mortise and tenon construction. This construction method required less wood than the Alemannic half-timbering and was also considered safer, especially with regard to fire hazards. The house was owned by various master craftsmen for a long time, with shoemakers in particular said to have practiced their trade here.
