Known as one of the "most beautiful villages in France," Gourdon has developed around its medieval castle, whose distinctive towers are visible from afar. The original fortress was built in the 9th century and rebuilt on the same foundations in the 12th century. Further additions followed in the 17th century. The three round towers date back to the time of the Counts of Provence. Another unique feature is the troglodytic fortress, accessible from the Plateau de Cavillore.

The hilltop village of Gourdon, also known as the "Eagle's Nest," sits spectacularly on the edge of a cliff at almost 800 meters above sea level. It overlooks the impressive Gorges du Loup and offers sweeping views of the nearby Mediterranean coast between Nice and Théoule-sur-Mer.

Beautiful scenery, I always appreciate the place. Living in Antibes, I regularly go there for walks or runs at Cap d'Antibes.

A beautiful circuit in the Villeneuve hinterland. 44 km with beautiful hills to go from Villeneuve Loubet to Saint Paul de Vence, Vence, Saint Jeannet, La Gaude, Saint Laurent du Var, the seaside and back to Villeneuve.

Beautiful route. Keep well to the right and a light on your bike is recommended for visibility.

Passageway in "Promenade Mode", to be avoided in summer, very frequented by pedestrians in "Tourist Mode".
