Sixty kilometers after Thonon-les-Bains begins the ascent of the Col de la Colombière, which is the first serious test of this Grandes Alpes route: a long climb of 17.3 kilometers awaits you over more than 1,000 meters of positive altitude difference and a quite difficult finale, but all in a magnificent setting between the Bargy chain and the Aravis chain.
