The Bruche is an emblematic river of Alsace, since it connects the Vosges to Strasbourg. Vauban used it to create an equally famous canal linking Molsheim to the Alsatian capital. This towpath was essential to erect the cathedral of Strasbourg. It made it possible to transport the sandstone from Soultz-les-Bains necessary for the construction of the Gothic work. Today, it is a cycle path appreciated by Alsatians for their walks by bike, on foot or on rollerblades.
