Great place to bivouac near Tours. Quite a bit of traffic because it's along a cycle path but there is a fountain not far from a picnic table. The Loire is right next door, so you can enjoy a magnificent setting.

The Luynes aqueduct is an ancient Gallo-Roman aqueduct bridge. With an initial length of 500 meters, today only around 270 remain. According to estimates, the aqueduct carried water from a source located on one of the sides of the valley where it was built. The aqueduct would thus have made it possible to supply Malliacum (Roman name given to the town of Luynes) with running water.

This railway bridge, accessible to pedestrians and cyclists, is an icon of the Touraine Loire. Every day, trains running from Paris Austerlitz station go to Tours. Sylvain Tesson himself crossed it as part of his story “On the Black Paths”.
