Fording depends on the water level of the river. Very nice place for lunch or a picnic.

So far, I've only visited this place in winter (at night). So, I wasn't able to get the best view of this small park.

Beautiful place, good food

Rivers and canals run through the country, and the latter in particular were a very important part of the transport infrastructure in earlier times. Later, first the railways and then again later trucks took over the task of transporting goods. When building the artificial waterways, however, it had to be taken into account that differences in height always had to be overcome, and so locks are often lined up along the canals - at greater or lesser intervals, depending on the local situation. Shipping was only possible with their help.

Nice place, with lots of bars to relax for a few moments

One of the most beautiful places in Nantes, but also one of the most touristic. To visit with respect for its inhabitants.

Originally built in 1755, the lock was badly damaged during the French Revolution before being renovated in 1839. In its extension is the ford built by the Benedictine monks of the Saint-Martin-de-Vertou abbey. This was used to join the two banks of the Sèvre Nantaise.
