With 1,363 meters above sea level, the Hohneck is the third highest peak in the Vosges. It is also one of the most iconic, and perhaps the most beloved. Lac du Forlet (or lac des Truites) is located near the Gazon du Faing nature reserve. At 1061 meters above sea level, it is the highest of all the Vosges lakes and occupies an ancient glacial cirque with vertiginous walls.
