From here, you have a truly magnificent view and can reward yourself with a light meal at the summit restaurant. Unfortunately, the hotel at the summit is currently closed. (For about a year.) As of September 2025

A beautiful and challenging trail. Beautiful views too. You feel small in this rugged area, yet at one with nature.

Beautiful 360 degree viewpoint, pleasant to watch with the paragliders taking off right next to it

Beautiful saddle with 360-degree views in both directions. Continue a bit further to Klein Honneck, where you'll also see the lake below and enjoy an even wider panorama.

Unfortunately, there's no small summit cross here, but the view is fantastic. When I was there, everyone else took the same route back to the Col du Schaefferthal. But if you continue, following the ski lift about 500 meters down into the valley, you'll come to a cross path. Take this to the right until you reach the Ferme Schiessroth, and from there back to the Col du Schaefferthal.

Currently (August 2025), there is a small photo exhibition in the chapel. It shows and describes various medicinal plants that grow in the area.
