Carroz means "crossroads", "crossroads" or "scree", "stony place" (of Celtic origin kaer), stone, rock (pre-Indo-European Mediterranean root: kal/kar)[ref. desired]. This section from Le Reposoir is the easiest climb which leads to the Col de Romme. Be careful, the road on the other side is very, very steep!
