I can only agree with Mattia: it's a short stretch of road through fields, but otherwise completely unspectacular, not even worth a tip...

Biederthal is often reached by car from Basel / the Birstal valley, but this point here is nothing special in itself.

There are better places to admire the Birs: It's always quite busy and there's heavy traffic here. Therefore, I recommend: Take a look as you drive by and move on.

In Laufen, in the old town, there's a superb bakery with delicious things. Cozy and delicious.

A new relatively short stretch of cycle path from Flüh to Leymen. It runs along the tram line. Together with the cycle path from Biel-Benken to Flüh there is a slightly higher alternative, but without traffic instead of the main road down by the riding school. And the view is more beautiful here anyway...

From Laufen/Röschenz, it's a steady climb and never particularly steep, but it's a long one until you get to the very top. From Metzerlen, it's really nasty and steep, but shorter. One of the region's classics.
