The Wissgrut farmhouse is a beautiful little farmhouse some 100 meters below the summit of the Wissgrut (1,124 meters above sea level). Its cuisine is delicious, especially the dishes prepared with meat from the farm's livestock.

This small, unguarded shelter, called the Salley refuge or Luthier's chalet, has everything a hiker could want: shelter at night; an idyllic setting at Ballon de Servance; a magnificent view of the Ballon d'Alsace; a charming little fountain; and even a stele in memory of American soldiers of the Cold War for the historical aspect.

A pretty little hut with a beautiful view, which is open to stop off in bad weather or even to stay overnight.

The refuge has everything you need: source of drinking water, shelter from the rain, location for campfires. It is an unguarded refuge for which there is no need to reserve.

A beautiful cabin with character and a splendid view. Inside, two wood saws are available at the time of writing. There is also a brush and shovel. The stove works well. A little smoke when lighting, but its insulation seems effective. The wooden front door can be closed with a small latch. There are two windows. There are three tables and benches anchored to the ground. Next to the entrance and under the porch, there is a table with benches. There is also a space in front of the cabin for a fire, with a few benches. Barbecue grills are available inside the cabin. It's not easy to sleep when there are several of you, as the tables and benches can't be moved. You can try sleeping on or under a table. It's doable; we've done it! If you use wood to make a fire, remember to cut some for the next ones. Please don't cut down living trees; there's always dead wood around. It's quick and always a pleasure!
