In front of this small, sacred monument—with its special dedication as a PEACE CROSS—I would like to offer the viewer a short text by Christiane Völkel, who personally describes the Apostle Paul's letter to the church in Philippi as "one of the beautiful passages that always touches my heart." Paul writes: "Do not be anxious about anything, but with thanksgiving present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ." (Philippians 4:6-7) She comments as follows: "You really have to let these two sentences sink in word for word! They contain everything of 'Good News' (...) And another beautiful aspect that moves me in the second sentence: It says that prayer accomplishes something. Namely, finding peace within oneself and walking one's path in life from fellowship with Jesus."

The mill, romantically situated in the Pommernbach Valley, was originally built to harness the natural power of flowing water. Now, thanks to a modern photovoltaic system, it also harnesses solar power.

4月 10, 2023, Jüdischer Friedhof Binningen
In the 19th century, the largest Jewish community in today's Cochem-Zell district was in Binningen. The peak was reached in 1817 with 24% of the village population. The size of the congregation was 50 in 1808, 80 in 1817, 43 in 1885, 25 in 1925, and 18 in 1932. The Jews in Brohl, Dünfus, Forst, Kaifenheim, Karden, Wirfus, Gamlen, Hambuch, Möntenich, Moselkern, Müden and Roes also belonged to the Binningen Jewish community. The synagogue, which had existed for some time, was expanded in 1841. The building was damaged in 1938 and converted into a residential building after the war. The cemetery also served as a union cemetery for the Jews of the surrounding villages. People were buried here until 1941, the oldest of the approximately 90 surviving tombstones (mazewot) is from 1855. The cemetery was desecrated several times, even after 1945. The burial ground is on the eastern outskirts of Binningen on Rosenthaler Weg.

From the parking lot you are up there in about 15 minutes, the cafe was open from 11am to 5pm, there you get the key to the inside of the temple, and there is also coffee and cake.

Exciting replica of a Celtic-Roman temple. At the weekend you can also see it from the inside. In one of the villas there are drinks and cakes on weekends.

“Each of these crosses can tell its own story and what motivated people to erect“ their ”cross at this point. (...) These crossroads were erected as visible signs and attract the eyes of many people. The cross is a symbol of life. It stands as a sign of our Christian hope and wants to direct our gaze to Jesus Christ, who overcame death (...). The cross is part of our life, just as it was part of the life of Jesus. So I hope that many people ... visit the crossroads, whether as places of silence and breathing before God, whether as places of congregation meeting, prayer and praise of God. " (Text source: Dean Rainald M. Ollig in: “Crossroads. Small sacred monuments as a sign of popular piety ")
