A lovely mill with an interesting history: it has been rebuilt 3 times in the past!

A very pleasant walk along the Lot river! It's calm and relaxing.

Two large domes dominate the Romanesque nave. They represent the most extraordinary example of the so-called "Aquitanian" architectural style: 16 meters in diameter and 32 meters high; only the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul has a taller dome. Also noteworthy is the small, golden church of Saint-Svair, with its large statue of Emperor Charlemagne, who presented it to the church of Cahors.

The panels with philosophical sayings written on them are distributed along the GR 65 (Way of St. James) in the Lot department and are an initiative of the ‘L’association 1000 Mains à la Pâte’ of the Lot department tourist association.

Beautiful church with a bench and drinking water point💦. Unfortunately the church was closed.

The mill was first mentioned in the 12th century and was then owned by the nearby church of Saint-Urcisse. After the flood in 1783, it was rebuilt and remained in operation until the 20th century.

Here the hiker or pilgrim has the town of Cahors and the river Lot at his feet, a truly picture-book view.
